Need your help before I go back to the volvo dealership

So last friday I brought my volvo into Crown Volvo.. they gave me the c30 v2 and it kicks ass...
The reason I brought it in is because every time I turn the car on between 2 and 3rd gear I hear a scraping sound... The dealership says its the abs doing a self test.
One of my friends says that its the bearing inside of the transmission and when it goes from 2nd to 3rd...the first time it corrects itself....but this problem will lead to a larger transmission problem....

Scraping sound is a new description. We need to know what year your XC is. ABS self test usually clunks below 10mph within minutes of starting car. My '01 was loud. My 04 is not.

2-3rd scraping could be shift flare and you may only need a transmission flush or failing that, a software update.

If other folks have heard scraping, they'll chime in.

Could well be the ABS checking itself, especially if you hear the sound only once upon first starting out.

I have an 02...
My dad has a 01 and you can't heard the ABS check.

then again he has 50k on his and I have 100k

I guess it is an ABS test.... Crown Volvo told me to keep in contact if something goes wrong.....
