Dear All,

Since a few weeks I am experiencing problems with my dear XC.
When cold it runs OK and smooth when in N.

Once I shift to D or R it runs 'bumpy', meaning that sometimes it holds in (refs drop drammatically) or engine even completely stops and then it all of a sudden 'speed's forward. This is very difficult to control and results in a very 'shaky' ride.:(

When the car warms up, the problems get less but do not disappear completely.

The dealer did a read out per computer but found nothing specific.
Then they changed the ATM, drove a test ride and the problem still existed, so they placed the old ATM back (which was replaced only a year before).

Now, the dealer thinks it's the automatic gear box, but they are not sure.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on here:confused:?

Thanks in advance!

Janine.

Sorry, I meant the ETM in stead of ATM!

check out the other transmission links.
My service center ( a volvo specialist not a dealer) advised that it is rare that they had to fix the transmission, instead check out the software upgrades, they have them for the CEM the ETM and the ECM,

In my case it was the CEM is the central electronic module, and once mine was replaced and all the software upgraded , many of my electronic issues improved (very expensive tho) but not as expensive as a new tranny.

Thanks Dick! The strange thing is that now it is getting warmer here, the symptoms are getting less and less....

I am really puzzled with was is going on. But checking the software is anyway an option.[thumbup]
