I have a 2003 XC70. The transmition appears to slip after I've been running on the interstate for some time. I come off the ramp, stop, and when I start to go the transmition seems to pause (slip), then it engages and I'm good to go. No engine or transmition warning check lights come on etc. It only happens when I've been running at freeway speed for some time. Thanks for your input - Ed

I assume you have a T6?
the Transmissions (spelling)
are junk and it's probably time for a new one, sorry.
Soon enough it will fail, most of these do.
If you have a 2.9, bring it to the dealer for a flush and software upgrade
(You can try that with yours (T6) and it may keep it alive for a while)

Thanks for the input - Is a T6 "Transmission" the same as a GearTronic? Hope not! The car only has 53K miles on it.

I believe JRL brought up the "T6" because you posted your original message in the XC90 forum. However, that posting says you have an XC70. If it is an XC70 you don't have the T6 engine.

Yes the auto is a 2003 XC70. Any idea why the Geartronic slips after coming off the freeway. I come to a stop momentarily at the end of the ramp. I then give it the gas, the engine revs up then engages into low gear. Everything seems to be OK after that. Any ideas what may be going on.

Have the transmission flushed, get any available upgraded software, have the B4 servo replaced (cheap) and hope that takes care of it.

That's about all you (or Volvo) can do without a more serious and EXPENSIVE tranny replacement

Thanks for the input. Hope it works. Not near enough miles to require a new transmission. May be time to get another auto.

You need to be a bit more specific in that description
