Hi,

Since some of my sound system keypad bulbs are not working, I decided to explore and try to fix them.
I found that they are tiny little bulbs (base included) that are loaded from the back of the keypad, with a less-than-a-quarter twist. Below are some pictures.

The bulbs -please compare the size with a nickel- have a blue cap that defines that green color on the console lights.

According to Vadis, the bulb code is 8673520.

Any idea where to get them? I searched the internet but couldn't find them

Thank you

Tato!

Yup I changed those before. Those bulbs are common on the whole line of Volvos. The best way I suggest is visit a local Volvo specialist and have them order those bulbs, if they willing to sell. They even might have it in stock. Good Luck.

I recently purchased a switch bulb from www.eEuroparts.com Their number is 1-800-467-9769. The part number for the bulb is 30752175. Cost is $4.69 each. I have it in front of me. It is the same bulb that is in your pics. What all is involved with installation of replacement bulb?

Hi there,

Finally I did it!. I ordered the parts to eEuroparts (thanks for the link!). It took me 30 minutes and I replaced 9 lamps!

The procedure is quite simple, and since it was my 2nd time (first one was step by step, veeeeeery carefully), it was faster.

I'm extremely happy about the outcome (I can see all the display!), and happier about the cost ($43 + 30 minutes of work)

Glad to hear it! I have not changed mine out yet. What is the best way to access the bulbs? Thanks

Hey swt srl,

(I've sent you an email). The images I have (very detailed, from Vadis) are too big to post.
All the procedure is explained with detail in there

Here are some VADIS diagrams that might help. I would advise disconnecting the battery before unplugging the CCM.

Thank you ART for the post, I used the same guides.

DON'T BEND THE OPTICAL CONNECTOR (shown on the last diagram). You break it and you're done!

And if you have enough lights, replace them all. It's faster and cheaper than doing all the work again for just 1 lamp.

Good luck,

Little late for my reply but i counted 10 bulbs. this cost me under $10.

Radio Shack #272-1092
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103780

2pcs for $1.79USD x 5 packs

pretty much self explanatory when you see the old bulbs and these new ones. took me about 45 minutes and i disconnected everything took it inside the house and did it on the kitchen table with a 4 and 6 year old helping. ohh geez.. :)

NOTE: i do own a BSR PPC diagnostic. I did get a CEL, SRS message and everything under the sun. Plug in and press reset codes and i was done hehehehe. most of you guys will not be so lucky, you will get a $80 plus bill form the dealer if you did it my way. Just becarefull on disconnecting stuff that all.

This way is ALOT cheaper and these are the same bulbs you would use for the ccm too.

Just finished replacing mine. Piece of cake. Radio Shack was good info, Thanks. I didn't unplug anything, but I did disconnect the battery just in case. There is plenty of slack in the wires to replace the bulbs without unplugging the ICM.

Thanks again,

Jon
