Recently purchased a 01 XCV70 with 69K miles.
Everything seems fine except for one tiny problem with reverse. It doesn't always work!
So far it's happened twice.
First time I got in the car, turned it on, put it in reverse and nothing. No revving of the engine, no backing up, nothing. Turn the car off and back on and it worked fine.
2nd time I got in the car, turned it on, put it in reverse and backed up and then went forward again and then put it back into reverse and nothing. No revving of the engine, no backing up, nothing. Turn the car off and back on and it worked fine.
So is this a common problem? Should I be glad I bought the extended warranty?
I plan on calling the Volvo dealer to see what they think.
