I really like this mounting option - looks clean and adds some toughness!

My question is:  Does anyone know how to accomplish this mounting?  Have you seen a kit?  Or do I have fabricate something myself.

Thanks in advance,
Gundo

Hi Gundo,

I agree, the auxilliary driving lights do look pretty cool. It looks like some form of licence plate bracket that the lights are mounted on.

Tomas, another XC member has done the same install on his car only with three lights.  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi Gundo,

when I ordered my V70XC I had the oportunity to order these additional driving lights. Price was around US$ 200. I don't know if this is only available in Germany or in other countries as well.

I also thought about odering them with my car. But my wife didn't like them.

In the actual Volvo price list the lights are not listed any more but I asked my car dealer - they are still available. He also said that it would be possible to  instal them later but this would be much more expensiv because of the wiring that needs to be done.

Best regards,
Axel

I think the Hella FF looks great on the XC:

Looks like they're attached to or very near the license plate bracket to me...:)

Coastal,

Where'd you get the Hella picture - I am very interested to know about that mount for the Hella FF lights...looks like it is just a tab mounted to the license plate location.  i could probably fabricate one from stainless, but was wondering where you found the picture.

Thanks,
Brendan

Thanks to art for pointing us back to this thread, and sorry about not seeing your question sooner there Gundo, uhhh, 6 months later.???

We found that photo in the Australian Cross Country catalogue from 2001 (mastiha sent it to me a long while back and I scanned it), so presumably the mounts are available from Volvo.

Geez, six months for a reply.....

Well, I've still not done anything in the lighting department, kinda waiting to come across the perfect mount, I suppose.

Thanks Taylor!
