The difference between genuine Volvo bulb and generic bulb

Hi, the Made in France genuine Volvo part and the Made in China bulb. Both same wattage but not sure on resistance though. But it sure fixed my brake light warning on dash problem at 5 times the cost of a generic bulb. Note the bulb is in a BMW box. So go figure! Bought it from a mutli franchise dealer who also sells BMWs so maybe the part is the same as a Bimmer?
