Movie Vehicle to be Awarded to Canadian Winner of Volvo?s ?What Drives Edward? Contest

Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. today announced the lucky Canadian winner of the What Drives Edward online contest will be presented with the actual 2010 Volvo XC60 used during filming of The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie. More than 370,000 people in Canada, the US, Germany, UK and France participated in the online contest where the first in each country to complete all six puzzles won a new vehicle, but only one received a piece of the movie.Twenty-two year old Christopher Johnstone of Vancouver successfully competed against more than 24,000 Canadian contestants and on December 21, 2009 will take delivery of the vehicle driven by character Edward Cullen.?Congratulations to Christopher Johnstone on winning the XC60,? said Jeff Pugliese, President and CEO of Volvo Canada. ?He did a great job of navigating his way through the game and his quick problem-solving skills have earned him a very unique vehicle that I?m sure he?ll be happy with. I?d also like to thank all of the participants in the contest. The program garnered such a tremendous response, both in Canada and around the globe, that we?re eager to be a part of more promotional opportunities with the series in the future.?Other winners included Ga?l Retho of France and 25 year old Sebastian Ecker of Germany; both won a C30 as part of the contest. In the US, the overwhelming number of participants ? nearly 300,000 ? prompted Volvo Cars of North America to award two winners with new Volvo vehicles. Beth Gleason, 18 and Jeannette Lee Underwood, 19, were the first two Americans to complete the game and will soon drive off in shiny new Volvo XC60s.Players who did not win and want their own new Volvo XC60 can visit a local Volvo retailer or go to to build their own. Edward’s XC60 features a Saville Grey metallic exterior, a sandstone beige/espresso interior, a cream leather steering wheel, 19-inch Achilles diamond cut wheels and exterior accessories such as side scuff plates, front bumper bar and rear skid plates.The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second film in the series, opened to record-breaking grosses around the world. In the film directed by Chris Weitz and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of ? only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Edward Cullen?s (Pattinson) departure from Forks, Wash., Bella discovers his image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy.
