Anzac Day !!

April 25th is the Anzac Day here in Turkey .

This day is very important especially for Australias and New Zealanders.

This day thousands of New Zealanders, Australians, Turkish, English and French people come together to remember the memories of those who fought at WW1 at Gallipoli . And in the evenings they throw crazy parties by the sea

If there are some Aussies and NZ people here and if they are interested I can write a new topic and post alot of Anzac & XC Cross Country pictures which I took yesterday. I was there 2 days before the main event , I didn't have the time to visit the main thing though

Interesting. I knew that the battle at Gallipoli was a big deal to Aussies and Kiwis, but I'm surprised they are still trekking back to the scene 90 years later.

Sounds like a fun time. I've been wanting to get to Turkey these past few years.

You can see the cemetaries, place where the battle took place also some other preparation scenes for the real thing which will happen on April 25th

You can also see the original Trojan Horse that featured on movie TROY, this is also situated in the same city as the Trojan wars happened at the same place 1000's years ago.
