So I had some work done to fix an exhaust problem (darn catalytic converter
)... The service center reset my Check Engine light, but told me I couldn't just get it inspected right away...I had to drive a bit.I guess there are ODB II values that get triggered as ready once I have gone long and far enough. My question is, how long, far and fast do I have to go before it's all good. Waiting in line for the inspection to be told it's not ready yet would be a PAIN. Thanks! |

What kind of inspection are you waiting for ? Was/is the MIL lamp on due to O2 sensor codes ?

Vary your speed but try to do at least 15 miles at 55-70 MPH. Just do a "normal" drive cycle with varying speeds |

It is an emissions inspection for Virginia... It was a bad cat that was causing the Check Engine light to come on...no bad sensors thankfully.
