The Country Inn sounds just the ticket and I will Email them immediately about the reservation and my likelyhood of being later than 6pm. I'm assuming even if I get there after 6pm I can still enter as it's a resturant as well. Part of any trip in my mind is the food and meeting new people especially in a foreign country. I will use my super duper Volvo Nav System and the FDC loaner Sweden DVD disc as a good test of the system to locate them  The 150Km sounds fine for the final trek back to FDC and I'll scout out the rock carvings and the coastal village.

I don't mean to be a thorn in your side.   If I were you I would make sure that the DVD menus are in English.  

On a slightly different note my dealer has an instruction DVD for the NAV, which he says I can borrow.   I expect to check it out today.

I recall asking FDC about this but will check again -- thanks.

If the instruction DVD for VNS has an official Volvo Part# could you post it back -- if not maybe its DVD Title or whatever so that I can get my sales person informed -- if this doesn't make sense then maybe my sales person can contact yours and get the right scoop I guess I'll also ask at FDC if they also have this DVD for sale or loan -- I'm assuming it's a DVD disc that plays in a DVD player.

BTW what's the acceptable tipping/gratuity policy in Sweden &amp; Norway? From my research it appears service charges are added automatically to the food and hotel bills and that taxi cab drivers include a charge in their bills also. Have I got this correct? What's Swedish/Norwegian word for &quot;Service Charge&quot; or &quot;Gratuity&quot;?

I should be picking up my DVD later today. &nbsp;I will try to find the part number for you.

re: gratuity or service charge. &nbsp; I used 15% just as in the US and it was much appreciated. &nbsp;I do not believe taxis add service charge, but some restaurants might though not all.

What I got was the manual for the car and a manual for the NAV on a CD-ROM. &nbsp; I was told that it comes with the car and will be given the official verison when my car arrives in town. &nbsp; I don't believe there is a part number. &nbsp;You could try asking your dealer the manual on a CD. &nbsp;

Have just received info from FDC/Alexandra today and she said the Sweden DVD disc does not provide speaking directions as my car is spec-ed for US. The directions/menus should be accessible in English as I believe the VNS is a multi-language system *In fact just read up the VNS online manual and on page 50 it shows how to specify language for voice and menus. If it doesn't work out this way we shall just wing it Thanks for the heads up.

There are 2 CDs in the pack. &nbsp;But the first one seems to have everything, including directions for NAV. &nbsp;Moreover, it seems me that these two CDs were from a XC90, which has the same NAV as the XC70. &nbsp;

Well, this was supposed to be the post where I told you all that the Monkeymobile was finally parked in my driveway, but it seems that the fates are conspiring against me:

- My sales guy apparently quit between my ordering and picking up the car

- The car hasn't yet arrived at the dealer - due last week, but apparently still somewhere between Port Hueneme and San Francisco.
