Having ordered my new 2003 XC last month I have been anxiously counting down the days until it arrives. *Now that Mt. Etna has roared back to life and has been raining down fine black sand and volcanic dust on everything, I am glad that my delivery date is sometime in December! *Hopefully by then Etna will be happy again and let me enjoy that shiny new silver metallic paint without fear of a natural sand blasting. *The AWD would be good right now however on the slippery volcanic black ash and dusts coated roads here south of Etna. * *Check out the attached amazing sat. photo of Etna's ash & dust plume. *It goes all the way to Africa!

Sorry, guess the photo of Etna did not copy when I tried to attach it on my previous post. How do you post a photo here anyway?
Thanks Wind&C |

All I can picture is the plugged air filter from the dust. YIKES. That stuff could really do a major number on the turbo if the filter were to overload and fail. Unlikely, yes, but still a scary thought.
