AT last a call this a.m. from my Volvo salesman to say that the Catania Sicily Volvo Dealer called to say they have just received from Sweden a brand new 2003 silver XC for one of his customers. *He says that since I am the only one to have ordered a silver XC in the last couple months that it must be mine. *However he has to wait for the vehicle documents to be faxed to him to verify. *
*Anyway I am excited to know that I may soon be exploring the Sicilian countryside in my new XC. *Now if I can just get it and keep it clean of Mt. Etna volcano dust until I return to the USA this summer, I will be happy. *Luckily he is including a car cover at no extra cost in the deal.
* Since this will be my first experience owning and driving a Volvo I hope to be able to report back that the XC is everything I hoped it would be.

Buon Natale e' Felice Nuovo Anno

Wind&C *

Well done W & C!

....and just to let you know, you're in very good company. Silver was voted as the top color choice world wide for 2002.

Interesting article Art! I wonder why white is so popular in the US and Japan and not in Europe

Guess the Ash Gold of my XC is considered a "natural color", and despite a high polularity with the XC drivers on this board, it's not very popular overall. Keeps it "special"

I was thinking along the same lines Pico. What surprises me is that the majority of the Japanese XCer's drive ash gold cars. Actually, the two color choices I was originally drawn towards were ash gold and nautic blue. My better half won out and we ended up getting the polar arctic which I thought was a less popular color choice. However, after viewing the color choice poll in this forum, polar arctic is second behind ashgold. Go figure. *

I''m getting slightly off the main topic here but I have started to see one XC round here (Auckland NZ) that is a dark grey colour. I have never seen this before and it looks great (I chose the Polartic Blue and am happpy with this but this grey looks even better&#33

Has anyone else seen or heard of this colour, I can only assume it is a new colour for the 03 models.

P.S. Wind&C, welcome to the freindliest car club around

Neil

I thought that the dark grey was only available for the new V70R....
Haven't seen it on the volvo web sites yet

Did you see what color the cladding was by any change?

Hey Neil,

By any chance, do you think it was a V70 that you saw instead? Titanium grey is a new color introduced on the V70 and by the sounds of it, the car you mentioned could have been one.

BTW, I'm also quite happy with polar arctic. *
