I have installed a USA Spec adaptor in my 04' XC70 to allow me to hook up XM radio, and as a benefit I have an iPod hook up as well. I have been using the iPod and am quite pleased with the performance. I recently bought an iPhone and was wondering if the adaptor would charge the phone, so i plugged it in, and got a message on the phone that the device wasnt supported. I plugged the iPod back in, and used it for a few more days until it stopped working. I thought the iPod was fried, and took it in the house only to realizer it was totally dead. I recharged it, and it works again. For some reason the adapter stopped charging the iPod, according to the website, the iPhone is supported, but only in "direct" mode. Has anyone had any similar experiences? Have i barbecued my adapter?

shreddr - sorry I cannot comment on the iPhone but I am interested in what you installed to get your XMRadio working. I have my XMRadio wired thru the FM stations & it is horrible. What is a USA SPec adaptor?

Check the USA Spec site. They report they have a new cable that will support the new Ipod charging and be backward compatible with your old Ipod.
