    Default Brake fluid leak

A week ago my wife had a brake failure with the pedal sinking to the floor sometimes. I checked the fluid and it was low so I topped it up. I drove the car myself and noticed the same issue. This weekend I decided it needs more attention and I found that there's a leak between the ABS hydraulic unit and the ABS module. I took the whole thing out and here's what I found:
The back side of the hydraulic unit (consider the front where the pipes are conected) has 2 tiny holes covered with a ruber cap (they are between 2 single rods that fit into the coils in the module). When I broke apart the units one of the caps was off and I suspect this is where the leak is occuring.
I put back the hydraulic and had a helper pushing the pedal a couple of times and the ruber cap came out and the fluid as well.
Does anybody have any ideea what is going on?

Sounds tome that you need a new brake master cylinder.

I think you need an ABS module...I don't believe that they are rebuildable without special tools...since you took this one apart, I doubt you can get it back together without leaks and without compromising its performance.

    Try XmodeX...they rebuild (I think)...

I guess that's technically called the ABS Pump...it should not be leaking...

    Unhappy

I dug in a little more and here's what I found:
The tiny hole where the leak occurs looks like a high pressure release valve (photo attached). I checked vadis specs but it doesn't say anything about its role. What puzzles me is the fact that this module ( ABS hydraulic modulator according to Vadis) was supposed to be super safe in case the ABS doesn't work anymore so that at least the regular brake system would be functional.
Well, it's not. I reinstalled the hydraulic unit without the control and things look ok without the engine running. The soon I start the engine and the brake booster increases the pressure when pedal is presed, the rubber cap is through out of the high pressure valve and leak shows up
I guess my last resort is indeed to order the unit but it's not cheap (~1000).
