Electrical problems

My 2000 v70 XC with 120,000 miles , the power windows and sunroof stopped functioning 3 weeks ago today lights ,radio , heater stopped working . Does anybody know what the problem might be , thank you very much I really appreciate this forum and all of you knowledgable Volvo enthusiasts .

There's a good chance that you have two seperate problems.
The windows/sunroof are very likely a dirty/bad master window switch.
It can be taken apart and cleaned and that may get you by.

Since the windows and sunroof share the same automatic reset
circuit breaker, if the window switch trips the breaker, the sunroof
takes a nap at the same time. Remove and unplug the switch to
verify this as the possible issue. If it's a faulty switch, the sunroof
will resume operation once the master switch is unplugged.

As far as the other problem, I'd start with the contact block of the ignition.
Jiggle the key a bit and see if the car gets happy. It's a simple fix from there.

what can I do to repair/replace the contact block of the ignition? thanks.

It's about a $50 part that's very easy to replace.
Pop the shroud around the column, and it's all
right there. Unplug the harness, pop a couple of
screws, replace it and reverse the operation.

Is there another name for the contact block of the ignition

It's the electrical portion of the ignition switch.
A Volvo parts guy should know about it.
They fail commonly in these older cars.
