Default Type iV ATF at Rockauto

I see that Rockauto sells Aisin-brand Type IV trans fluid --$4.99 a quart.
Any concerns about using this? I have not heard anyone mention an Aisin-branded ATF. Is this something new?

I’ve seen it in my local foreign car parts store. Should be good.

Thanks Astro. I would think so too.
Just did a flush for my aging '01 with 220K miles. We'll see how that goes.

All of my three P2 didn't like anything but 1161540. Well, Idemitsu Type-TLS was the best aftermarket fluid among others, but still is not OE. What helps is 2-3 oz of Lubegard HFM...

The Lubegard helps in what way? Thought transmission additives were frowned upon?

In case you want to shop local, I have used Toyota's Type IV fluid 2 years ago in a complete flush through the trans cooler line of my '04 and couldn't be happier with the results and the money I saved. It was half the cost of Volvo's equivalent.

Friction modifier wears out or the ATF itself may have not enough of them in the first place. Volvo puts more of additives in 1161540 than you find in a typical JWS-3309 ATF.
