Default How does one replace the grill?

Is it necessary to remove the bumper?

    If I remember well (for a MY2004):
Remove (6 or 7?) clips/push-pins on top, tilt forward, then release hooks at the bottom.
You know how these push-pins work?

Yes to the push pin question.

I assume you are talking about the bumper where it attaches along the top to the frame above the rad?

Is there a torx screw in each of the front wheel wells that also needs to be loosened/removed? If you've got an earlier model with headlight wipers, those will need to be detached.

There may be a couple push-pins on the lower side of the bumper/nosecone which are visible if you look underneath the car.

As I understand it, most push-pins retainers have a disk on top of the pin.
To release the retainer, the disk has to be pulled up.
Volvo uses another type of push-pin retainer. There is no disk on top of the pin
and the pin has to be pushed down in order to release the retainer.
Not very far down and without using much force. You will feel when the retainer is free.
Once it's out, the pin can be pushed upward until it's above the disk of the body of the retainer.
It can then be insterted in the hole and the pin pushed down until flush with the surface.
