Default Looking for reviews of ECM repair services

I just got some bad news from my independent mechnanic who confirmed my VIDA diagnosis that my ECM is failing. The only options are to get a new ECM programmed at the dealer for 1500$ or use one of the many ECU/ECM services found online. Strangely I have found very few reviews for such services. These range wildly in price from 250$ to 900$. Has any one had an ECM successfully repaired? Has going the dealer route fixed the underlying problem or was the ECM not at fault.

    Thank you for your help.

    Try xemodex.com

"or was the ECM not at fault" - that's always a possibility - you do want to make sure a new/repaired ECM is going to fix the problem, BEFORE you spend the $$$ on a ECM!

What problems are you having? Tech Support @ xemodex can tell you if they have seen your problems caused by the ECM

I've had great luck with Xemodex - DIMs, Throttle body, CEM.

That said, I would, as Hoonk mentioned, want to be absolutely certain that it's the ECM...

If it is, I would trust Xemodex.

I used them about 75 times for various control units, only had a problem with 1. An xc90 CEM failed after a few months - was it water intrusion again? (that was a problem with some of those) Don't think so but could have been. (meaning failure was my fault, not theirs) xemodex covered the 2nd repair at no charge and with a smile
