Tailgate Relocks After Two Minutes - Need To Disable This Feature

From the manual, if the doors are unlocked with the remote, the locks will automatically reengage (re-lock) and the alarm will reset after 2 minutes unless a door has been opened.

In my Volvo, re-engagement (re-lock) only happens to the tailgate two minutes after unlocking the tailgate with the fob tailgate button.
I personally don't fancy this feature. Can the automatic re-locking be disabled, and if so, where/how?

Update, the other day, not just the tailgate but the whole system all got locked after about two minutes.
Sure this feature can be changed. With the tool, if so, where?

You already answered it. It's in your manual: when unlocked with the remote, unless a door is opened, the system will lock the car after two minutes.

That's how it works.

That's how my Toyota works.

Don't unlock it until you're ready to open a door.

Interestingly, it only happened once a few days ago.
Been driving the car for about a year now and only the tailgate re-locks when I only opens it with the fob.

Just unlocks the car with the two presses on the button, all the doors unlocked, about four minutes later, they are all still unlocked.

Played with the locking system with the key inside the car, with a window opened just in case.
I now like the automatic locking system. My ignorance was messing me up.

I guess it's designed so if you accidentally unlock the car - maybe you're reaching around in your pocket for some loose change and hit the unlock button - you don't show up later to find your car cleaned out of valuables.

That's my guess, too.

It seems to be an industry standard.

I checked, and my Mercedes does the same thing.

So, Mercedes, Toyota, and Volvo. That suggests industry standard...

And no the Packard doesn't do that...but it's theft proof anyway. Choke, starter button on the floor, manual transmission, etc. no millennial thief could get it started or drive it...
