    Default Good laptops for VIDA/DICE?

What is a good laptop thats able to run to run the most current Volvo software? I'd be running the VW Vag-com/Rosstech software as well (yeah I drive those too), but nothing beyond that. It seems like the VIDA software is more picky as to setup. Basically I don't need anything fancy

I use a VirtualBox virtual machine running Windows 7 and Vida (on my macbook pro). Works great and I worry less about the sketchy chinese vida/dice unit that I bought on ebay.

Almost any 3 y.o. laptop will do it.

I run VIDA in a VM too, under Linux.
    2002 V70 (sold)
2005 XC70 (Telos Road took it. Did a chassis swap)
    2016 XC60 (sold, P.O.S.)

Jeez, one that new! Wow! I run my shop VIDA (2010D) on a 13 year old Dell with 4G RAM and a 64G SSD and it works great on my '05s. And if I drop it I'm not out much.

    Cheers,

I've used the old Lenovo x201i laptops will great success. The easiest is running a virtual machine to keep all the picky install stuff off the 'main' one.

If you have Win 10 Pro, then you can run it in Hyper-V and it would probably run far better than in VMware.
