    Question Noisy wipers

My 2006 XC70 wipers are noisy, it sounds like a hard click on the drivers side at the top of the swipe or end of the swipe.

Very annoying sound when I drive, the wipers look to be in good condition, the brand is Bosch, is the wiper too long on the drivers side?

Most Volvo wipers are not quiet
    Who knows why!
After all these years I've given up, I've tried almost everything so as long as they clear the windshield properly, I live with it.
I have found that a different blade usually works better s lately I've been using Rain-X blades.

You also need to make sure the actual wiper arm is at the right angle.
Volvo dealers actually have an adjustment tool to get the arm at the correct/perfect angle

I agree with JRL's comments and would add that in my experience regularly using Rain-X windshield washer fluid also contributes to lowering the noise.

If there's an audible "click", then I would have someone turn on the wipers while you're standing outside the car and observe - if they're making contact with the window frame, there's your click. If they're not making contact, then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It's possible that the blade is the wrong size, it's also possible that an arm got bent, for example, in an automatic car wash...

But for just plain noise, I recommend the PIAA Silicone wipers....they're super-smooth and quiet going across the glass. Last a long time as well.

I would fold the wipers away (or even remove them) from the windshield and turn them on
in an attempt to learn if the problem is in the driving mechanism or the blades/wiper arms.

    I think it's a 24" wiper, right? If you're is that size, it's correct.

Check if the wiper arm is bolted down properly at the base of the windshield. If the wipers are noisy (not the linkage) then try wiping the rubber edge with rubbing alcohol or something to clean them off a bit.

    Blades are TWO different sizes
Many people buying aftermarket blades do not know this and I've also seen people put the passenger blade on the driver's side and vice versa
