Exclamation No power to front wheels. Park slipping. Transmission dying?

    Hey Guys,

I've been procrastinating on asking about this one for a while...

I have been having power issues, at first it seemed like transmission slipping, the car seemed like it was shifting fine but just didn't have power, and I also lost park. Then when it snowed recently up in Connecticut I realized that what was really happening was that I wasn't getting any power to my front wheels, and was driving on my rear wheels alone. Diagnosis? Am I screwed?

    Best,
    Josh

If this is a 2001-2002 - I have seen left front axles pop out enough from the transmission to disengage the splines but not fall out on several cars. This can create the symptoms you are describing - no park, no power, no fwd. Usually aftermarket axles versus factory ones. All the power then goes through the viscous coupler, and it slips by design.

    It is a 2002, and that's very interesting, I'll take a look.
