I have now taken the vehicle to the dealer and left it there. They must drive it and see what its doing. Feels bad to have given up, but lets see how good they are then.

They found one bad connection on the lever hub I hear so far. But im not sure its fixed yet. Will let you know if they find out what went wrong exactly. They have their technical team going through all their journals etc as well.

Got the car back today. The one connector block that plugs into the lever hub if im correct, had a loose connection. They recrimped the wires on the little plug, and now so far, 200k's later with lots of testing etc. So ja, hope this will help somebody oneday! Thanks for all the help and advice

The lever hub sits inside the steering wheel, in front of the clock spring if in relation to the cars front. It has electronics and circuit boards on it. They put a new one in for me. the clock spring slips or fits onto the lever hub. Thats what the dealer called it. Maybe its called something else?

I am sure you're right, I had never heard of it, though...

By any chance did your hi-beams no longer work in the constant on position, but only in flash to pass?

Isn't this one of those Volvo things, that you have to physically turn the headlight switch to on, before the high beams work. I had to look in the manual, to figure that one out, when I first got my XC.
