I have an 04' Volvo S80 T6 with 232k, recently the reduced engine performance light came on, the car slowed to about 10 mph and would go no faster with gas pedal to the floor. I pulled to the side of the road and put the car in park. The engine would rev to about 1500 rpm. I shut the engine off, waited a few minutes, re-started the car and it ran fine. This has happened several times, and a friend who is a mechanic, however not familiar with Volvos suggested un-plugging the MAF sensor. I un-plugged it and the car has run great ever since. Any idea what the fix might be? I am several hours from the nearest dealer or shop that has Volvo diagnostic equipment, and I try to repair the car myself whenever possible. Thanks
