    Default Nokian WRG2 tire noise?

Hi, I'm creeping up on 30K miles with my Nokian's (235/60/16) mounted on the stock wheels ('05 XC70) and I'm starting to notice a lot more road noise than I remember. I'm pretty sure there is no other issue like a bad bearing etc. I was just wondering if any other Nokian owners experienced the same thing. I'm probably going to get about 45K miles out of these, based on current wear, but the noise is becoming irritating. Did any of you find the same thing? TIA.

I noticed much more noise the closer my WRs got to 40k. I ended up replacing close to 50k with G2. So I would think the G2 will do the same as the WRs as they get more miles on them.

Most tires, especially any performance tire get noisy after 30K miles.
Everyone is different, it could be 28K miles, it could be 35K miles, but towards the end of their tread life most tires will get quite noisy

My experience with the same size WR G2 on the same year wagon and rims is that I replace them at 38,000 to 39,000 miles. This is just before the wear bars are flush with the tread. Stop and go city expressway driving, Tire pressure at 35 psi. Tire rotation every 6,000 miles.

    Default Nokian Noise

Nokians are great but comparatively noisy. Tire noise was the main reason I did not mount them on my other cars.

At 30K on the WR G2s on the XC, I haven't noticed any noise increase. They still ride quiet and smooth.

I've got 20K on the same tires on the MB, and they're still quiet and smooth...

So many factors affect tire wear and noise, it's hard to determine the precise reason they've gotten noisy in your cases...so far, so good in mine...

The other thing with the Nokian NRW/WR/WRG2 is that they have a low speed growl (like under 10 mph) that could be mistaken for wheel bearings. That's been my experience on all three generations of this tire on three different vehicles.
