Exclamation Time for a 90K service on MY04

My wife's MY04 is due for its TB replacement along with a major service. In addition to the TB and its tensioner, what else should I do at this time while I'm in there? Waterpump, thermostat/housing, plugs, coolant flush, serpentine belt, throttlebody cleaning. I don't mind getting my hands dirty or a little bloody....it's all part of the fun. Thanks in advance for any advice or direction.

    A 90K service is a major service
If you're doing a T-belt now instead of at 105 (good idea) do as much as you can afford
Yes clean the ETM, new serp belt, new plugs
Water pump is up to you, it should be fine though (one of Volvo's better parts). Inspect it while the belts are off
Fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea
Check the entire front suspension and check the breather box for negative pressure.
Check your angle gear for leaks
Check the turbo dump tube seal

I would add to check the rad hoses, especially if you do the water pump. and while you are at all this stuff, take a good look at your turbo hoses. Not due to miles but age. On all my turbo Volvos 8-9 years seems to be the life of the the hoses including the blower tubes.

    Have fun,

I thought it is considered smart to do the water pump with every timing belt? Or is this just with the older cars?

On white blocks, I've always heard that water pumps should be replaced every other TB change. But if you are doing all the rollers and tensioner, why not do the pump too as the cost of the pump isn't all that bad.

    Cheers,
