I've been running the Nokian WRG2's on my '05 XC70 since Oct. '09 and around 20K miles of all-season driving. They are a good choice for those who don't want to swap out tires every spring and fall. They ride well on dry and wet pavement and provide comfort similar to the OEM Pirellis, while being MUCH better in the snow. I've blasted through foot deep unplowed driveways with no problem, driven the local roads and highways before the plows arrive, and I've never felt I was going to get stuck. The tire has limits, as does the car, but for "typical" winter driving between home, work, and the other places go on paved roads, it's a good choice in my opinion. If you routinely go off-road on unplowed roads in the backcountry, you might want to bring a winch.
I'm estimating 40K miles tire life and I'll buy it again.
