Anyone else experience this with their XC70?

I have a 2010 T6. Lately I have noticed that when I am on the accelerator moving forward I hear what almost amounts to what I would call a subtle whisper like sound coming from the vent area. It is only when the accelerator is in use. If I don't give gas and coast the sound goes away...

It doesn't seem like a big deal but it made me curious. For all I know it was like this from day one when I picked up the vehicle. I'm one of these guys that blares my radio most of the time so it likely just took me a while to notice it.

Any thoughts? Indicative of some sort of problem or not?

Turbo whistle !

no real ideas, but you may have a small leak in the air intake system, but as you say, performance does not appear to be affected.

Some Turbo's do emit a small 'whistle' especially under power.

I have heard that it can make a difference by doing an oil change as the engine oil lubricates the turbo and in some cases it quietens them down.

It's not bad at all...just something I happened to notice. I guess I'll keep an eye on it and mention it at the next service...

Could a boost leak somewhere cause that too? Or he'd get a light on the dash if he had that?
