    Removing the fuse will disable the alarm module, but it will leave the CAN-bus network connection intact.
    Should the problem(s) be caused by the alarm module shorting the CAN-bus wiring, the problem will remain.
    The alarm module is a posible suspect of water damage. To disconnect it completely, a few rivets in the
    right hand wheel well need to be drilled out to gain access to the module. If I my memory serves me, there
    is only one connector for both power supply and communication.

    You are correct. I just replaced mine this last summer. I forgot about the latency of the network connection to that module; so yes, he would need to get that disconnected to clear any issue it may be causing even though the removal would set an error message.
