I took the exhaust cam sprocket gear off to check the oil seal behind it expecting a key or dowel to reposition the sprocket but nothing! Now how do I know where to position the sprocket when I put it back? Thanks for the suggestions.

To istall the cam pulley properly the engine must be set at TDC, the cams locked in position with a special tool, the crank must be locked with a special tool, then the pulleys/timing belt are installed and the fasteners torqued. The variable timing actuator must be set up as well.
