Coolant for Australian/NZ XC70?

G'day,

My coolant tank is getting close to the "Min" mark, so time to go shopping for a top up.

For those of you here in Australia or New Zealand, which brand & what type of coolant are you using instead of "Volvo coolant"? Or are you in fact using Volvo coolant?

Hi Tank2 - probably not much help as a new Volvo owner (coming from Subaru and BMW), but as a rule I get my servicing done at MIDAS.

This is because I know the owner of the local franchise and I did some work for him (helping with budgets etc) before he purchased it a few years ago and because at that stage my main car was a E39 BMW 530i, and his son (who manages the shop) was one of the best BMW mechanics around here........ but I have to say they seem to have a manual that specifies which oil, coolant, etc suits different makes, and my experiences have always been good.

I am not sure if this is a general franchise thing or is because we have a particularly good shop locally.
