    Default P0072 code

I have a check engine light with code P0072 indicating Ambient air temperature sensor low input.
The vehicle runs fine but I am wondering how to correct the problem code.
Where is the sensor located that throws this code and does anybody know how to test it?

The outside temperature sensor is located on the bottom side of the driver's side mirror. Check for loose connections, otherwise replace.

    sjonnie,

Are you sure its on the driver's side? I was told it was in the passenger side assembly after an encounter with a deer.....

    Bill,

I believe that sjonnie might be referring to the other temp sensor located below the left side mirror. More details in the PDF attachments below.

The link in your reply for the Outside Temperature Sensor.pdf keeps wanting me to log back in to the site and won't show the PDF file. The other two are fine. Can you please repost the PDF for the Outside Temperature Sensor please? I have the same issue.

    Thank you!

I see this thread is 3 years old but how did y'all resolve the P0072 code? My temp read out is fine so it can't be the sensor?

There are 2 sensors - one in the bottom of each mirror. The fuel injection, climate system, and outside temp use them - can't remember which side does what.
