Default 2002 v70xc timing belt parts

I have to change the timing belt in my wifes xc soon, and I'm looking for the best place to buy the parts in ontario, Canada. I've found the belt for $68 and the tensioner pully for $122, and the idler pully for $104. Is there anywhere else cheeper than this??? Thanks in advance.

fcpgroton.com has a kit with all 3 parts for about $130 USD. If not on website, call them and ask. Got mine a few months back. Don't know shipping rates to Canada tho. They do free shipping for $150 USD in lower 48.

Are you sure the pullies need replacement?
If I am not mistaken, they don't have to be replaced
each time with the timing belt.

Howard, That's a great price - good site!

This is the cheapest I could find in Canada:
    Timing belt - $59
    Kit - $213 !

Acc. Belt (Multi-Rib Belt)- $45 cdn
Acc. Belt Tensioner Assy - $86

"Orders $75.00 CDN or more will be shipped UPS ground for Free to Canada."

    Willy,

Since pulley failure can cause the same disaster as belt failure I think it is now generally recommended that they be replaced along with the belt.

I heard the common failure isn't the belt breaking due to wear. Rather is the the pulley and tensioner seals leaking internal grease and eventually seizing to cause timing failure.

Thus the kit with all 3 parts for sale.

It's the idler that usually doesn't. ALWAYS replace a tensioner when changing a belt.
The odds of a tensioner breaking is greater than a belt actually breaking. However...
I replace all parts when doing a belt change, the alternative is quite ugly and quite costly and frankly not worth it to save $150

Good advice, it would indeed be "false econmy" to save $150 and take the risk of damaging
the distribution (since Johnny was looking for a cheaper source for the parts I thought it could
save him some money if he wouldn't replace them all. Conclusion: Bad advice from my part )
