I just changed the tensioner , after I had the old one out took it apart only one bolt in the centre for the pulley , I could have just done the pulley as the bearing was gone and save myself some...

Both mine cracked at the oil cooler in the rad and the coolant went pink, and the tranny just foamed up .
I removed the radio and the cup holder but was unable to fit the spring , as I very rarely us it I gave up , if you do manage to fix it please post how ,

The test for a blown head gasket is to remove the cap from the header tank , and start the car if the water bubbles up as the engine warms up it's the gasket .
When I have replaced CV joints they always used molybdenum based grease , very messy wear latex gloves that stuff is hard to get off .
You would not have been able to turn the wheel , front and back wheels have to be of the ground to turn , just did the front brakes and could not check the disk unless I jacked up the rear as well .
cruse control is part of the ABS , clean the connector to the master cylinder first , the ABS is under the fuses and a pain to get at and check .

It's the turbo starting up but it can't spin until the engine builds pressure , then it's got to balance from all the sensors ,
Not to mention that the tires will be chewed up in no time .
If it is tight on the splines just loosen the nut a couple of turns , and turn the wiper on until it comes loose .
The wire on the last sensor I did was stainless steel , I don't think anything else would last .
Do your headlight washers still work ? If so can you tell me where the pipe fits into the bumper .

Or you can do what I did look on line , then go to the main dealer and say I can get the parts plus P & P for whatever can you match that , and they said yes picked them up next day .
Do you mean the selector wont move ? if so it is related to the ignition and is part of the anti theft system .
