Does anyone know the voltage these injectors run on.....I am going to clean them myself. I have seen anywhere from a 1.5V AA being used to a 12V power supply on You-tube vids. These injectors are the...
I have a question about the fuel injectors. The bottom (intake manifold side) of the injector has the o-ring plus what looks like a plastic washer. This washer is not in the o-ring kit. It doesn't...
Sorry not to mention it......an '01
I just had a thought that maybe when the ECU senses no input from the coolant temp sensor, that it turns the rad fan on all the time as a fail-safe?
I've read a few people who have this combination...
Hello All,
After a "no oil pressure - stop engine' message, I have pulled the oil pan and cleaned everything out including the suction screen which was blocked. While I was at it I replaced the oil...
See "Service and Repair Generator" by Art under Resources
But it must be an alternator.
http://www.volvoxc.com/0/resources/how-to/pdf/service-and-repair-generator.pdf
I thought my 2001 xc had an Alternator but I notice in Resources that Art has a couple of sections on testing and replacing the generator for 01-07xc.
Do some xc's have a generator instead?
Pardon my ignorance but what is 'manual swapping the car'? You're swapping manual transmissions? I have swapped the auto tranny on an '01 so can offer a few pointers if that's what you're doing.
I've got a P1238 code, and online, most references say it is a turbo issue, but my code reader is very specific and says it is an open circuit at the #2 cyl fuel injector. My symptom is rough...
I have taken one out.....to retrieve the tranny, and can say I would not want to put one back in. All the ECM stuff, AC, putting your old tranny onto the new engine. You can do it on a garage floor...
Aren't you guys missing the point? Why was this engine removed after the oil cooler line broke? Did it seize or was it removed as a precaution?
I wouldn't touch the thing.
It just occurred to me that I should perhaps point out that the XC in the picture has no drive shaft, tranny or engine.
I know most of you will know you cannot tow an XC this way!
Yup, I would say it's fairly involved. You're supporting the engine from the top while dropping the back of the subframe, disconnecting the steering etc. OK if you've got the tools.
So far so good.....1100kms.....jury's still out till at least 5000km though.
Out to the cabin.....she-who-must-be-obeyed was making noises about derelict vehicles
It's joke guys!!! I can't help it if my smiley faces don't work!
How can you not disconnect this line if you're doing a flush? However I see your point when it comes to getting a final level at the end .....I did do that small amount through the dipstick hole.
I...
Well it's done.......everything back together.....not too many left over parts.....did an 18 lt flush......took it to Volvo to have the adaption done.....rode along and it only took 35 mins to get...
I just called our Volvo dealer to get the price on a ball joint. I looked at a bill I had from them 4 years ago....$60......now?....try $145
And that's during a recession!!
OEM from IPD is...
The good news is that you only have to aline one bolt hole of course and the other 5 look after themselves.
First I got the carrier plate hole in the little access slot, then put a very thin screw...
The transmission is in and bolted up.
Vadis says to then align the carrier plate and torque converter so you can put the 6 hex screws in.
It says to do this by both turning the engine (easy) and...
Well what do you know.....the codes are exactly the same on both valve bodies....so have switched the rebuilt valvebody into the other transmission along with the B4 servo upgrade.
I wish there were...
The method is straight out of VADIS with only 3 exceptions.
I only have one transverse engine lift so the RH engine lift point is on a chain hoist hung from a rafter.
The car is on jacks and I...
