I have tested my speedometer against two different GPS and also the mile markers(Kilometres actually) and it has always been within a KPH.
That is an exception rather than the norm I think.

You mean like this? http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13
Yes, but the transmission or engine does not really heat up much until the car is moving and the transmission is actually working.
My 04 does the same thing as you describe and always has since I...
Vibration can often mean just a balance problem.
I often get a vibration just from mud or ice/snow buildup on the inside of the wheel. A good session with the car wash wand makes it go away.
Yep that is what my indie Volvo shop did for me when I had them do the transmission flush.
Cheer up, Summer is only a few months away....
Generality? I always saw it as a SAE standard not as a suggestion. The newer models may well be rated for class III though.
I think the Californians were talking about going skiing more than once a year.
Mountains being mountains, they get more snow than LA so getting something like Nokian WR series may be worthwhile...
I the little reading I have done about it, it seems that the floor mat issue is different than the current recall issue.
Unless the newer models are different than mine, the XC70 is only rated to use a ClassII hitch which has a standard of: 1.25" receiver, 3500 lb tow and 300lb tongue weight.
ClassIII hitch is the...
I have found that if I use the wax "feature" at the carwash the trim looks horrible with spots and streaks.
The Nokian WR (now WR2)is an exception to that rule. They are actually winter rated whereas the general all-season tires are not.
The Nokians have more than decent traction. In snow they are...
We were told that about our V40.
I got my belt replaced a couple of weeks ago on my XC70 at 155,306 Km. Cost was $89.95 parts $287.38 labour.
We have had some very cold weather and some blizzard here so far this Winter. I wore out a set of Nokian WRs that I quite liked and replaced them with Nokian Hakkapeliitta R Nordic this fall. I have...
I have done this a few times also. It is not difficult but just take your time and make sure you get all the electrical connections and the lock connector undone before you try to pull the door panel...
Ok, I was in denial when Ford bought Volvo. And as I surmised, they screwed up the marque somewhat.
Things could be worse. GM could have bought Volvo.
I dislike automatics on several levels but a manual transmission in just about any vehicle is becoming harder to find.
That being said, the auto in my '04 does work pretty well. As far as...
I have used Yokahama snow tires on my X-Terra and they were awesome in the snow not quite so much so on ice. Currently I am running Nokian Hakkapeliitta R winter tires on the Volvo and so far they...
Just add near to what the specs in the manual state, wait a few minutes, check the dipstick and then add a little at a time until the max on the dipstick is reached. Don't be in a hurry since it does...
The problems I have has so far have been fairly minor. MAF just after I got it at 50 some thousand Km, replaced by dealer. Sway bar end links. A few spurious check engine lights and that is about it....
On my '04 the blades are different sizes for driver and passenger side. Did you perhaps transpose them when installing?
That looks pretty sharp!!
How did you mount the driving lights?
I washed mine after I took it hunting last weekend.[thumbup]
Which to me is a good indication of how totally useless they are in the first place.
I got mine from a dealer but I found out about the previous owner because she left a credit card in the little card pocket in the glove compartment.
I tracked her down via an internet search and...
