Is Volvo just updating the software, or do they take the thing out...
FWIW, I get mine replaced ever year/5,000 miles.
Trolling around Manhattan 90% of the time dirties the filter quickly.
Makes ya wonder what the air's doing to my lungs.
Well, I'm going in for the throttle body recall/reprogramming/etc. tomorrow morning.
Is Volvo just updating the software, or do they take the thing out and clean it, too?
Is there anything...
Well, nobody wants to buy a dirty car. :D Seriously, it's always worth the money to have the car detailed prior to showing it for sale. That aside...
I tend to keep my Volvos for a long...
Various ways... you could look for something in the engine compartment that says "Turbo," check a car reference site like Edmonds.com for your make and model and year car, check your car's owner's...
That's what mine cost last month.
Middle of the summer in the city & 4/70 wasn't possible, so I didn't have much choice. Now, the A/C's working fine (but my credit card's smokin').
FWIW, I've got a 2000 & I found that tire pressure very hard in city driving. I believe that the 36F/41R is for a car fully loaded with 3 or more people and a bunch of stuff, etc.
We usually have...
Yes! :) For over 21 years, we've trusted our Volvos (and our lives) to Mario at Elko Auto Repair, 1139 Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY (914) 698-8660.
He's honest, resonable, and...
Long way around, but I got my sticker when I joined the VCOA.
Thanks! Now, I'm not as stupid as before. [thumbup]
Hmmm... (once you get the "official" name for the thingie) I'd try eBay and/or web listings from a salvage yard cooperative data base.
I popped one of these center wheel caps (could that be the...
At the risk of sounding stupid, what's the MAF?
Can't be what I'm thinking of & it doesn't come up in a site search (says the word's too short).
Thanks.
So, you've gotten 4.77 miles for every dollar you've spent? Sounds like my gas mileage.
(BTW, does that $6500US include the infamous a/c cabin blower motor and/or the cargo cover?)
I bought my 2000 XC from them. They fixed a few items for me (broken lens, chip in windshield, etc.) without charge. They've got good feedback on eBay.
If you can, buy one that still has the...
I'm a big fan of eBay. I got my cargo cover there for ~$100. It's definitely hit or miss, but keep at & you'll ultimately get lucky.
Plain vanilla (actually, Nautic Blue) V70 2000 XC SE. No special mods. The car and I live in Manhattan. We both have a lot of miles on us. :) And you?
Today, my ABS and TRACS lights came on while on the highway at about 60 mph. Got to my destination & shut the car off. Came back later, started it up & no lights all the way home (27 highway...
FWIW, generic ODB II readers are available on eBay at prices shockingly under what I paid for mine 2 years ago.
...
My suggestion? Spend a few bucks and have your mechanic and/or dealer read the warranty through, item by item, and give you his (her?) comments before you purchase it.
I've found out the hard way...
Do you know if there's a VADIS cure for this for my 2000 XC70?
I've heard you can get all the locks to pop at once for entry if you "tune" the key fob... but what about getting out from inside? ...
Me, too, please? (My messages have also bounced back.)
2000 V70 XC (with USA, non-metric info & calcs, please)
Thanks! :)
Whoops, another hit-and-run. :D
Molly - here's a 2002 XC 70 currently on eBay. The car has both the cargo cover and the 3rd seat & the photos should give you an idea of how they look when "combined" in an XC 70. (Scroll way...
Have you looked through the eBay "completed" auctions for that part? (Perhaps a guy didn't sell his & still has it available?)
If that doesn't work, and you don't need the mirror immediately,...
Total SWAG, but is your front windshield completely sealed?
I had this rain-in problem on a 740, and it turned out the windshied had cracked slightly (thanks to a mis-thrown softwall) under the...
