G'day,
One of my side mirror puddle lights (the ones that show you where the puddle is so as you can step right in it) has stopped working.
Can't find any info in the manual on how to change this bulb.
Anyone know how to access it?
Thanks
Andrew

Andrew,
these bulbs can, like a few others, only be replaced by a Volvo workshop.
Usermanual page 182, in my English version at least.
Changing out the puddle light yourself should be a relatively simple procedure. More details here.
Excellent - thanks Art! [happy]
Do these lights have any use at all, aside from when I press the yellow button on my remote? And if so - who even uses that feature? :D
The first thing that comes to my mind is when you are approaching the car at night, say after coming out of a movie theatre or Wal Mart, and you see someone near the car or if the wife wants to make sure no one is in it before she approaches it in the car parkade after she gets off work at 10 p.m. I believe the whole system is called approach lighting? It's a safety feature that can buy you some peace of mind and possibly thwart a would be thief. The system lights up pretty good and will catch someone off guard.Quote:

Dave.
So would the car alarm ;)
My friend (who also owns a XC) described it to me as a feature "to show you the puddles at night, so you don't accidentally get your feet wet".
To which I thought, "Oh god, this is the least manly car ever!".
Glad to hear I can spin it as a bad-guy deterrent... haha. Actually, I'm not going to lie - I thought it was pretty cool when I first figured it out.
I have found them useful to show me the skateboard left by my kids, so I don't accidentally break my ass;)Quote:

I prefer the silent and swift approach so as to possibly tear a few pieces off the offending prick!!Quote:
